Accessories

The only accessory I have is an AMCO luggage rack and padded sissy bar. I don't think I have ever seen another CBX with rack/bar installed. Probably very few sold. I took my honeymoon on this bike from Kansas to Seattle 30+ years ago.

Modifications

I figured if an exhaust system on a Hayabusa could handle 180 horsepower it would work on a CBX. So, I decided to graft one on my 1980. It was not easy to adapt and I do not want to do it again. It is a 6 into 2 with a cross over pipe using stock early Hayabusa mufflers. I had to build 3 into 1 collectors. I have not taken it on the street yet as I am still in the restoration process, but I am confident that it will work well. Take a look. David

CommentsI still have the original 1980 exhaust system hanging in my basement with only 100 or so miles on them. I am glad I had the foresight to put them away in their pristine condition.
Problems

CBX has not been on the road for 12 years. Been in my garage. Currently restoring to road-worthyness. Biggest issue was rebuilding the carbs. Now, it is repainting Glory Red again.
