Marysville, OH - (MCNW) Just one week after announcing that they will scale back motorcycle production at their Marysville, Ohio plant, Honda announced the start of production of their Valkyrie Rune cruiser motorcycle at the same plant. Business First reported in mid-April that Honda's Marysville plant will produce fewer large, high-end motorcycles. The weak economy was blamed for lack of demand for big motorcycles, and no specific numbers were given as to the change in production. Honda states that sales of other motorcycles were steady. Just one week later, Business First reported that the same plant had begun production of the largest motorcycle ever built at the Marysville plant, the 8˝-foot long Valkyrie Rune cruiser. Honda recently unveiled the bike at their annual dealer show in Chicago. The area's largest employer, Honda employs about 13,000 people in Central Ohio, and of that 750-800 work at the motorcycle plant. Honda states no layoffs are planned. "
