The CBX is the Vincent of the future? Not sure I see the comparison.

Me neither. The value of the Vincent is completely overrated due to an artificially increased desirability by "armchair" motorcyclists and self-proclaimed experts like Peter Egan, for example.

I think that he was talking about parts availability. ;-)

Why is the Vincent revered? It's the engine, the focal point, the heart of a motorcycle; a heart with soul, with charisma. It yearns to be heard, to be moving. To me, the CBX has the same appeal.

I disagree I don’t find the focal point on the Vincent to be the engine. The overall design of the bike. Has a very balanced look unlike the CBX, which is anything but balanced. The Vincent engine design was for the most part standard fare for the time. Where the CBX was an oddball and still is. Now if I were to compare the CBX to a bike from the past the Ariel square four might be a better fit for me.

Strange bendy sensation when riding over bumps. Poor clutch & cam gears. Still a nice bike for its time.

It's reputation was that it was very fast and loved by it's riders - That's my CBX
